Orlando, Feb 2012

As every year... well, most of them, my family decided to go to Orlando. This time we went with the Siu's (Alexa and Waimen) , the Chew's (Tia Jenny, Alejandro and Fernando), Gustavo and my grandparents. We went to the parks, did some shopping and had an awesome time. Here are some pics!

Pet Dilemma

On a hot february day, probably a  monday or a wednesday after my psychology class, I picked up Carlos and Victor to go for some ice cream @Deli Gourmet. After our sweet treat, we decided to go to Melo just to see the puppies. I remember I saw a tan Pomeranian and a miniature Yorkie! They were simply adorable. And as I roam around the store, just to spend more time, I saw these amazingly small hamsters. I immediately fell in love with these little creatures. Something got into my head and I asked Manuel a simple question... "Manuel, if I buy one these hamsters would you help me take care of it?" He didn't even think about the answer, he quickly answered "Yes". I went to the cashier and asked how much they were and the woman said they were 9.95, which I thought it was a very reasonable price. So, I told the man to get me one of those Russian Dwarf hamster.

After the man brought the hammy to me, I realized that 10 bucks was just the price of the thing. I  didn't think about his (yup the hamster is male) necessities. In the end... the total was about 35 dollars. I had to buy a cage, some sunflower seeds and hay or whatever it's called.

Going back home, I started to think how was I gonna name my new furry friend. The name just popped into my head. The pomeranian in the store reminded me of Boo, the super famous pomeranian that looks like a teddy bear ( if it doesn't sound familiar, here below you'll see a pic). So yeah... I decided to name my dwarfie Mr. Boo.

HOOOOOOLD on... the story does not end here. After 1 month and a half, Mr. Boo got lost. I was completely devastated, I cried like if the world was coming to an end. I never thought I'd cry so much for a pet. It was funny though, you just had to see me. Anyway... I blamed everybody, even Rocky and the guys who were fixing the damned doors. That same night my dad decided to go and buy me another hamster, you know to replace Boo. That time, I went to Animal Planet @Albrook Mall instead. I bought the smallest dwarfie they had. It was a bit more expensive than Boo, he was like 12 bucks.

The next day after my math class, I directly came back home. When I got there, my grandmother told me "You know what, now you have two rats". Apparently, my grandmother was getting some ice and she saw something moving so, she screamed. Then Rocky came and he caught the hamster with his paw and Allan picked him up...  I know it sounds like a pretty messed up story! But, okay... the thing is that now I DO HAVE TWO HAMSTERS! They hate each other like hell, they can't be together. For some reason Periwinkle squeaks every single time I put him near Mr. Boo.
Boo never squeaks, NEVER, but sometimes he's bipolar and bites Periwinkle. I don't know it's craaaaaaazy! So, for now I maintain them in two separate cages.

Periwinkle

Anyhow... I love them very much and they're the new members of the Young family. (By the way, my dad plays with them which is very weird, cause he doesn't even play with Rocky ha! and my grandmother hates them.. she hates anything related to rodents)

Almost ready to go

Sorry once again, for not posting anything at all... it's been months! Anyway... my 1st semester @FSU is finally coming to an end and I'm already craving for sweet vacations! Probably I'm gonna work at the factory and who knows.. maybe I'll go to Brazil in July. But before singing victory, I have to complete some college stuff... scholarship documents, FTCAP( Some chemistry and math placement tests that Penn State demands... by the way YES I'M GOING TO PENN STATE), and so much more.

I AM PENNSTATE!!!
