Stories from An "Easy Listener"

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm the kind of person that goes to concerts because of the music. I don't see concerts as social gatherings where the only purpose of going is to meet with friends. I mean don't get me wrong, I adore spending time with my friends but not money on something I don't like. And that's been my dilemma for the past few years.

Some friends of mine love to go to concerts, {you know who you are and I love you} and I usually say no to them because of that reason. And I'm sure you people may be thinking "This girl here is a total scrooge, how come she can't spend a couple of bucks on quality time with her friends". But hey I have feelings, of course I feel bad! You, more than anyone else {only and only if you have friends}, it's never easy to say "no" to a friend. So, I want you to think again. Just think again.

Imagine I'm an artist,  Alicia Keys for example {or if you don't like her,  ____insert your favorite singer here_____), my goal in this music business is for people to like what I compose and sing. I couldn't care less about the money. Well... let's get real, money is always a factor nowadays, but anyway... I think that musicians want to be liked because of their music not because of the money. My ideal audience would be my real fans; the ones who support me, scream at the top of their lungs whenever I hit the note that makes my music so unique and shiver when I finally sing the song they were waiting for since the day they bought the ticket.

Now, let's go back to me. What if I go to those concerts I really don't wanna go to? Am I being a fan? Am I being the ideal audience?

The answer is no. So, there you have it, my little explanation of why I don't really go to concerts if it's not for the music.

----------------------      ----------------------      ----------------------      ----------------------      ----------------------

I can count all the concerts I've been to with both of my hands: Backstreet Boys, Belinda, Floricienta, Jonas Brothers, The Maine + Mayday Parade, Karmin, {do random Panamanian rappers count?} and OneRepublic. Half of them were paid and half of them were free. And I can say that each and every one of them has been very special to me except for Karmin {need to be honest with you guys}. And from all of them, OneRepublic has been the best, which by the way was free.I just came back from that concert an hour and a half ago and here I am writing because it left me completely stunned! I just can't stop talking, tweeting or instagramming about it.  It simply blew my mind!!! This guy, Ryan Tedder, the band's head singer has the most amazing voice. There wasn't an ounce of lip singing in the whole concert and everything he did up in the stage was incredible! The emotion, the instruments, THE PIANO and THE VIOLIN, the lights, the songs...

All I can say is the whole world conspired against all odds to make me go to that concert. It was just meant to be. To make the story short, even my organic chemistry exam got cancelled. WHEN THE HELL DO EXAMS GET CANCELLED AT PSU?

Here is the video of Apologize, one of my favorite songs! I love that song as much as my first blue iPod mini. I remember playing that song over and over again nonstop. Even today it still has its spot in my ultimate playlist.

{P.S. You will never have to imagine again I'm a singer}
{P.S.S. Whenever it's raining very hard it's because I'm singing, sorry for that}
