There has always been this urge to return home, whenever I
am in the minuscule and intermittently boring town of State College. You see,
there’s nothing compared to the warmth and affection your family and good old
friends can only bring, the aroma of a freshly cooked meal made with pure and
simple love and oh yes, the comfiness of your own room, where singing at the
top of your lungs and dancing around like if there was no tomorrow are gladly
welcomed by your sweet and marshmallowy pillows.
My heart belongs to Panama, or so I believe in this precise
moment {which is everything that counts}. I can’t imagine myself living in
other place rather than here, my beloved isthmus {unless everyone I love
decides to move elsewhere}. I would not trade it for anything or anyone. Did
you hear me loud and clear? Anything or anyone.
Nothing about my feelings of staying here for the rest of my
life has changed a bit, but right now some part of me wants to return to Happy Valley. For the first time I am going to live in an apartment; there will be
no one behind me cleaning my bathroom or making sure I am following dorky dorm
rules. It will be Dori against the adversity and I am looking forward to accept
this new challenge. It’s not that everything will suddenly change and radically
explode like the Little Boy, if you know what I mean, but I am in hopes of
getting rid of a couple of moldy and every so often intoxicating habits.
{Even if Time and Study will always try to get in our way, I
know that our star-crossed love will grow fonder this coming fall. Oh dear Kitchen,
I will try to cook and bake as often as I can, as you are one of the few who
know how to liberate me from nerve wracks and stress itself. I am already
dreaming of a warm homemade dinner to keep my stomach in bliss and a decadent
chocolate cake to mend my broken heart. I will not fail you Kitchen. I give you
my word.}
Well, only one month and a half to go and I’ll be back in
State College. Time passes by in a blink of an eye, just like a train on its
track.
I’m still not ready to leave the comfort of my house, to go
to this place in the middle of nowhere {*clears throat*, I mean Pennsylvania}
that has been my “home” for the past two years. But I am more than ready to go
back to the people who have carved their names on the branches of my little heart and have made this experience worth the while. At the end you're not made from the past-midnight hours you spent cramming for that Biochemistry exam, but from the hours you spend learning about other people; their charms, their uniqueness and whatever they have inside their top hats to give your life a certain touch of magic. Ah and that's the beautiful art of magic, it's always unexpected.
See you there or see you then,
Dorianne
