I love Panama. I call this place home, not because of the place itself, but because of the lovely people. People I'm lucky to have in my life or who left behind a little seed in the garden of my soul {they might not be around physically, but you might still feel a faint note of them in my essence*}. {{And of course, if you don't live in Panama, don't feel left out. You know you have a space in my big little heart}}.
Some people cannot simply shift away from your life. You are stuck with them and there's nothing you can do about it. Yeah, I'm talking about the people you know since they were in the bellies, or the other way around; people who know you since you were in the belly. Family, friends of the family or extended family. Family all over the place. Here is a glipmse of my very own. Some of my favourite humans, the children of both of my godparents, my cousins: Irene, Priscilla and Emilio, missing Eduardo.
They are practically my other brothers and sisters. It's fun and refreshing to be around people who do not judge you or expect you to behave according to society's standards. They accept you as you are and know the real you, without necessarily knowing your juiciest secrets or whatever you've done in the past. There's nothing you have to hide, no one you have to impress, trust you have to trust or heart you have to protect. You let your guard down, take off your mask and give them your whole self because you know that in their arms, you are safe. You are home.
